1. Get enough Calcium and Vitamin D
The amount of calcium you need every day depends on your age and sex. 1200mg of calcium a day for women over 51 and men over 71 is recommended. 1000mg of calcium a day for women under 50 and men under 70 is recommended.

2. Eat foods that are good for bone health
Dairy products, such as milk, yogurt, and cheese are high in calcium. Certain green vegetables and other foods contain calcium. If you drink soy milk or another liquid that is fortified with calcium, be sure to shake the container well as calcium can settle to the bottom.

3. Exercise regularly
Weight-bearing, muscle strengthening, balance training exercise, running and walking. Being active not only help building strong bones, it also promotes good posture, balance, flexibility and mobility.
